Your Bruny Island adventure begins and ends in Hobart aboard the luxury cruise catamaran Peppermint Bay II and includes an incredible cruise along Bruny Island's coastline aboard the state-of-the-art coastal tour boat Adventure.

Peppermint Bay II is a sleek, 23 metre, high speed cruising catamaran, licensed to carry up to 160 passengers. Built in Tasmania by shipbuilders Richardson and Devine, the vessel was launched in 2005 for the Peppermint Bay Cruise, which travels along the d'Entrecasteaux Channel, the body of water that separates
Bruny Island from the rest of Tasmania.

Peppermint Bay II was purpose built for cruising the southern waterways of Tasmania and designed for maximum passenger comfort and visibility. With extensive outer deck space and expansive floor to ceiling glass windows and atrium for unsurpassed views of Bruny Island, the d'Entrecasteaux Channel and the wildlife that abounds in the waters surrounding Bruny Island.

Bruny Wildlife Adventure's brand new eco cruise boat Adventure has also been custom-designed and built to achieve world-first levels of cruising comfort, viewing amenity, safety, speed and excitement.

The 14-metre Adventure is a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) designed in collaboration by Woody Marine, Spear Green Design and Peppermint Bay Cruises. Like Bruny Island's Adventure Bay, our Adventure was named after Captain Cook's ship 'Adventure' and was built in Brisbane, Australia specifically for the Bruny Wildlife Adventure's eco cruise into Bruny Island's coastal wilderness.

Adventure, powered by four 350HP V8 Yamaha engines, produces true ocean cruising power. Bruny Wildlife Adventure has a deep concern for the environment and ecology around Bruny Island and for this reason we chose the four-stroke Yamaha engines, which are the lowest emission outboard of their category in the world (www.greenfleet.com.au). They are designed to be ultra-quiet, allowing for the most intimate wildlife encounters possible on this special eco cruise.

Adventure is a true eco-tour boat, fast, extremely comfortatble and designed to take you into the heart of the wilderness and Adventure's 360-degree viewing means you'll see all that there is to see.

Also, in another world first, Adventure has been fitted with a Remote Operated Underwater Vehicle (ROV) equipped with a video camera allowing you to witness the seldom-seen Bruny Island marine environment first hand.

At various points during the cruise your skipper will deploy the ROV into the waters surrounding Bruny Island and the Friars, beaming live footage direct to our onboard screens. You'll see Bruny Island's incredible sea life in its natural habitat including cavorting seals, Tasmania's elusive southern rock lobsters and breathtaking sea gardens. While Adventure has been designed as a fully-equipped wilderness cruising boat, our passengers' comfort has not been overlooked. Adventure is fitted with ducted floor heating, a spacious and beautifully-appointed guest rest room.

Bruny Wildlife Adventure has also partnered with Stormy Australia to design and manufacture full-length waterproof expedition jackets. You'll be fitted with your jacket aboard the Peppermint Bay II, en route to Bruny Island, to ensure a personal fit and a warm and dry journey into Bruny Island's wilderness.
